This folder contains the experimental protocols exported from the Qualtrics platform. Specifically, the files document the survey flow, embedded logic, questions, and all relevant elements that participants encountered throughout the experiment, and are included here to ensure transparency and replicability.

File pt.1 contains the initial survey administered to all participants. It includes the randomisation procedure that assigned participants to one of the four experimental conditions in the 2×2 design. Following the initial survey, participants were directed to the corresponding Planet X microworld simulation, where both the goal and information conditions were manipulated according to their assigned group. For an example of how Planet X looks alike a functions see Appendix B. After completing the simulation, participants were redirected to a second Qualtrics survey (pt.2), which included outcome measures and post-task assessments. This secondary survey is also fully documented here.

Notes and Clarifications
Terminology:
Within the Qualtrics implementation, the word "unclear" was used in place of "ambiguous" to describe goal conditions. This substitution was made solely for technical reasons, as "unclear" is shorter and more manageable for naming survey blocks and paths within the Qualtrics interface. The underlying construct measured, however, remains goal ambiguity.

Additional Measures in pt.2:
Compared to the experimental design outlined in the manuscript, two additional exploratory measures were included in the pt.2 survey: (i) a modified version of the GEM module to measure participants' worldviews, and (ii) a self-developed Perceived Bias scale intended to gauge participants' subjective awareness of their potential bias in the decision task.
These measures were originally intended to provide exploratory insights but were not tied to any hypotheses or core research questions. After initial data exploration, they were deemed to add minimal analytical value and were therefore not included in the final analysis or reported results nor in the protocols used in the subsequent experiments.
Importantly, these additional items were administered after all independent and dependent variables had been collected, meaning they had no impact on manipulation or outcome measurement. Given this experimental sequence, their inclusion does not interfere with the validity or integrity of any result.

Consistent with open science practices, we transparently report the inclusion of additional unused exploratory measures, which were not part of our hypotheses and were excluded from the primary analyses.
